-Chapter 6: The Cinted Roses of Love-

Not wasting any time, Madison hurried along with her morning routine, rode the train, and arrived at the School for Looneys five minutes early before the morning bell rung.

Why was she in such a hurry today? She was quite looking forward to meeting her new classmates. The feeling of anticipation was brimming inside her chest.

It had been five whole days since she attended the school. During the time she had on and off conflicting feelings towards it. Despite that, she couldn't feel negative towards her peers.

Approaching her classroom door, she wasn't expecting anyone to be there aside from Cecilia had she not made a wrong turn somewhere. Taking in a deep breath, she opened the classroom.

"Huh?"

Much to her surprise, the room was organized as if it was fresh out of construction. The chairs were ordered, the chalk boards were wiped clean, and most of all the dust at the ends of the corners were gone.

The janitor, Madison immediately thought. However, that was laid to rest when she a girl adjusting a chair approximately ordered with the others.

She had long, snow white hair that reached down to her back and eyes of the same beautiful shade. While the weather wasn't exactly warm, the girl wore light clothing as if it was winter.

"Um excuse me," Madison said. Before she could finish the girl suddenly yelped and hid behind a chair with her hands over her head.

"P-Please don't hurt Allatla!" the girl pleaded, tears welling up in her eyes, "Allatla is very, very sorry for touching belongings without permission!"

"W-What?!" Madison said, baffled by her sudden defensive reaction from a simple greeting, "I'm not gonna hurt you, I swear!"

"So why you yell at Allatla?!" the girl, presumably named Allatla, retorted, "Allatla's parents never yell at her unless she done something wrong! Allatla is a good, good girl!"

"I..." Madison prepared to speak, but made sure to lower her tone first before continuing, "I'm not going to hurt you. I take it you're one of our new classmates?"

Slowly, Allatla rose from her position and gazed at Madison with shifty eyes. After a few seconds she replied, "Yes."

"Alright, my name is Madison D. Clark. It's nice to meet you. Allatla, right?"

"Yes," Allatla answered with a nod, "Allatla is pleased to meet you as well."

"Why were you cleaning our classroom? It seems like an odd thing to do by yourself."

"Allatla doesn't like dirty things. She keeps her room and herself very clean. Allatla's mother always told her to be a good, clean girl."

"Um, if you don't mind me asking, are you a foreigner?" Madison asked, curious of her origin due to her use of speaking in third person.

Tears once again began to well up in Allatla's eyes as she laid down on the floor in a fetal position. "Please don't take Allatla away again! Allatla liked her igloo!"

"I-I'm not. Your speech just had me thinking you were."

"Please don't make fun of Allatla's speech. She had to study very, very hard to speak crazy new language. Allatla still can't go new home without getting lost."

"Did someone say lost?! Not me!" Cecilia yelled cheerfully as she stumbled into the classroom. Once again, Allatla screamed, this time covering her eyes with her hands like a frighten little girl seeing a ghost. "Oh, who's scream was that? That was such a cute scream."

"Hello, Cecilia," Madison greeted, "That scream belonged to our new classmate cowering on the floor."

"W-Why is that girl have bandages over her eyes?!" Allatla asked while peeking through her fingers, "Allatla is very, very scared right now!"

"My bandages? Oh, I wear them cause my eyeballs fell out! It would be weird if I walked around showing off my empty eye sockets!"

"T-That's horrible!" Tears rolled down Allatla's eyes, feeling both sympathy and fear towards her.

"Cecilia, please don't mess with her." Madison pleaded.

"Alright, alright, I perhaps lied about that." Cecilia giggled mischievously, stroking a lock of her blue hair.

"L-Lying is a bad, bad thing. Allatla would get a spanking for lying." Allatla commented as she stood up to her feet, wiping her tears away with her sleeves.

"Did somebody say spanking?" Lysander said as he walked in.

"Ah! More scary people!" Allatla shrieked, once again hiding behind the chair.

"Oh my, what an adorable little cutie she is!"

"A-Allatla is not adorable! P-Please don't make fun of her!" Allatla brought her blue scarf up to her mouth, a small blush running across her cheeks.

"Honestly, can you simpletons be any louder?" Alfred commented as he walked in carrying a large, yellow duffle bag over his left shoulder.

"T-This is Allatla's nightmare! So many scary people..."

"Allatla, it would be best if you try to stay calm," Madison advised as she picked her up from the floor, "There's going to be more people walking in, you know."

"S-Sorry. Allatla gets scared very, very easily. That is what small man in fancy hat told her."

"New girl, you will tell me everything you know about that man." Alfred said with strong stare.

"D-Don't hurt Allatla please! She only knows he wears fancy hat and suit! That is not good to wear in cold weather!" she said as she hid behind Madison, clinging to her sailor uniform like a blanket.

"What else?" he demanded.

"U-Um! His name is Mr.D and he told Allatla to go to foreign school cause she is scared of many, many things! Allatla does not think that is a very good reason for her to go, but her family packed up everything before she had her say!"

"I see," Alfred muttered to himself and then waltzed to a seat to sit down, "The plot thickens."

"What do you mean, Alfred?" Madison asked as she calmed Allatla by patting her head.

"You should know. What kind of school gathers students from even the far ends of the globe just to attend here? Did they not say it was the Japanese government who brought us here?"

"Yeah, that is weird. What purpose could there be from gathering students from around the world?"

"I'm not really a man who enjoys mysteries, but this is one is interesting to say the least." Alfred smirked, fixing his scarf, "I'm sure the others would love to know this new information."

"Huh? Since when did you start socializing with the rest of us, Alfred?" Lysander questioned.

"Tch, obviously I was directing the responsibility unto you lot. Just speaking with you all makes my brain ache."

"Hmm, I wonder what Problem they said you had." Cecilia said, rubbing her chin with her fingers as if she had a beard to stroke.

"It is none of your concern as to why I was told to be here. Though I must say, it is rather silly and insulting to my intelligence." Alfred scoffed and turned his gaze to the window.

Madison felt her own brain aching and decided to direct the conversation onto someone else. "Hey, Lysander, what kind of Problem did they say you have?"

"Um, something about being "too open". Isn't that the craziest thing you ever heard? Just because I like to be open about myself doesn't mean I'm looney or anything." the multi hair colored student puffed his cheeks, slightly upset.

"Wait, so they actually told you guys what your Problem is?"

"Yep," Lysander nodded, "Didn't they tell you yours?"

"No, not at all."

"Allatla thinks that is too strange." Allatla commented.

"Cecilia thinks the same as well." Cecilia said, obviously mimicking her.

As time moved on, the rest of the class began to walk in. Course during the time, Allatla attempted to hide behind a chair, but Madison held onto her like a farmer holding a frantic chicken.

"I see you all have gotten acquainted with Allatla," Mr. Iven said, bowing, "My name is Ikotu Iven, I shall be your teacher. I'm pleased to meet someone from another country."

"A-Allatla t-thanks you, sir." Allatla said, returning a bow and then hide her face back into Madison's sleeve.

"And now, there is one more student would like I to introduce you to," he said to the class, "I would say three, but it seems our second and third new classmates are too shy to enter the room. Regardless, let us welcome the one that is here and let her introduce herself!"

As he said that, a girl joyfully skipped into the classroom, humming a melody to herself, and stopped at the podium to gaze at her new classmates.

She seemed to have a permanent smile on her adorable, round face. However, her black attired looked conflicting with her cute face. Long black gloves, a black cloak with a red cross over a black undershirt, and a short red patterned skirt. The smiling girl had short olive-green hair and azure eyes that shined like pearls.

The class could only stare in both amazement and shock at the girl's appearance. She was surely the most unusual person they've ever seen at the school.

"Hello everyone!" the olive-green haired girl said with bright smile, an obvious Spanish accent behind her soft voice, "My name is Rosalina de Apache and I'm dead! You can call me Rose if you like!"

"Eh?!" Was most of the responses from the class.

"Um, well," Surprisingly, even Mr. Iven was taken aback by her words, "What an interesting girl you are. Welcome to our class. Well, I'm gonna head out for a bit to see if I can find our missing students. Please don't try to make them feel unnecessarily uncomfortable!"

With that, Mr. Iven walked out of the classroom and strolled down the hallway. Almost immediately, the class erupted in conversation like a volcano, both gossip and questions running amok.

"Hey, Rose! What do you mean by you're dead?" Dina asked.

"Exactly what it means!" Rose responded with her hand raised, as if already expecting the question, "I am not among you living souls! I am dead and as such, I am what you living call a Grim Reaper!"

"A-A Grim Reaper?!" a male student questioned, gasped. "D-Doesn't that mean if you touch us we'll..."

"Haha, do not worry yourself, my classmate." Rose laughed, "I can control my spiritual output and influence. That means my presence shall have no effect on you."

"Oh, you sound like you're well acquainted with this subject already, Rose."

"Of course, because ever since I was born, I was dead! At my young age, I am quite an exponential Grim Reaper!"

Whilst Rose was entertaining the class with facts about herself, Alfred pulled a book out his pocket, not wishing to take part in any conversation. Before he could begin reading, he noticed Allatla was staring at him with a tensed stare.

"What is it, girl?" he asked.

"S-Scarf buddies?" Allatla touched her blue scarf and pointed at his, noting the similarity between the two.

"No." Alfred denied, returning to his book. Allatla whimpered like a puppy, disappointed she wasn't able to make friends with a fellow scarf owner.

Madison's attention was drawn elsewhere. She stared at the door, waiting anxiously for both Mr. Iven and Nicandro to return.

A minute later, she stood up. "I'm going to see what's taking him so long."

"No!" Allatla pleaded, clinging to her sailor uniform like a child on their first day to daycare, "Don't leave Allatla alone in scary place!"

"It's not that scary here, Allatla." Madison assured with a gentle smile. The Inuit girl shook her head in disagreement and tighten her grip into Madison's shirt, refusing to leave her side.

"Fine, you win." Madison gave up with a sigh and the two departed from the classroom.

Once outside, Allatla loosen her grip, yet remained close to Madison. Despite her clinginess, Madison couldn't help but find her adorable with her shyness.

"Well, I'm not sure where to look first," Madison said, "But let's check the first floor."

"To find a certain penguin out of a crowd, you look for their unique coats." Allatla said with a face as if proud to know the fact.

"We're not exactly looking for a needle in a haystack, you know. Um, where did you say you're from again?"

"Nunavut, top of Canada."

"You do know that penguins only live the South Pole, right?"

Allatla's face fell in sadness. "Allatla knows that well. She just wanted to share fact with new friend."

Madison nervously laughed. "Sorry." she apologized. "Let's just get going."

The two students strolled down the hallways of the first floor. For minutes, they haven't caught sight of either their teacher or classmate. Afterwards, they decided to search the second floor and the result was the same as before.

"This is really strange." Allatla said, pacing back and forth in thought, "Allatla thinks they have disappeared."

"It certainly is taking a long time to find them," Madison admitted, leaning back on a wall, "Perhaps we should go back to class. Mr. Iven should at least be back."

"Okay." Allatla nodded and the two departed down the stairs to the first floor. Once there, they immediately stopped to stare at the scene before them.

A few feet away at the eastern end of the hallway stood Nicandro, his body frozen stiff in fear as he stared at the person standing in front of him.

A girl stared back at him with dense pink eyes, her long white hair covering her left eye. She wore a black shirt had a high collar that reached up to her mouth and was wrapped completely in multiple pink belts.

"I've been looking for you all day, Nicandro," the girl said in a monotone voice. "It's not like you to skip class."

"Oh, um, Cint..." Nicandro said, barely able to speak.

"Were you perhaps avoiding me?" Cint interrupted, her voice slightly raising in what seems to be anger, "I thought you were a nice guy, Nicandro. What have I done to deserve this?"

"No, I'm not avoiding you!" Nicandro raised his hands in defense. "I just had some business to deal with, that's all!"

"Business? What exactly were you doing this entire time walking around campus and in the bathroom for thirty minutes?" Cint questioned, looking down at the ground. A small blush then appeared on her cheeks. "I... couldn't imagine what activities you were performing all by your lonesome... Ehehehehe..."

"Are you stalking me again?!"

"I'm not stalking you... I'm just watching over you... Always..." With every word she said, she stepped closer towards him and Nicandro stepped further backwards.

"That girl is really, really scary..." Allatla said, biting her nail in nervousness, "Is she going to hurt him?"

"I-I hope not." Madison said, gulping in fear of might happen. She wanted to intervene, but feared of what the white haired girl might be capable. She'd seen too much anime to know where this was going.

"Nicandro..." Cint said, pushing her index fingers while looking down at the floor, "I-I know we've haven't seen each other in some time, but I've been very faithful in hopes of seeing you again. I just knew we would. Destiny wants us to be together."

"Um, I think you might want to have another talk with destiny." Nicandro said.

"So in light of your... um... current relationship with that girl, I'll forgive you. Cause I know you wouldn't betray me, Nicandro. You just wouldn't. But I must admit I have looked into her for you... and she's not suited for your divine caliber."

"Cint... why?"

"Pardon?"

"Why are you acting like this? This isn't like you," Nicandro looked at her, sadness in his eyes, "You used to be kind and talked to others. Then, one day, you just changed. What happened to you?"

Cint gazed at him, surprised by his sudden questions. She then looked at the floor. "I can't trust others, not after what happened many years ago. After that day... I just can't anymore. Nicandro, you're the only one I can trust!"

"I thought you recovered, but now you're back here again. Back in the same position you used to be in with the same exact Problem." Nicandro placed a hand on her head, "I wish to help you, but if you have to try to get close to others. Can you promise me that?"

Cint didn't respond. Without saying a word, she wrapped her arms around him, embracing him in a tight hug. "I'm sorry if I'd hurt you, Nicandro."

"It's fine, I'm just not prepared for all this drama lately." Nicandro scratched the back of his head.

Madison looked at the scene, feeling less tensed than before. She was glad to see the two weren't on bad terms like Nicandro mentioned before.

"Nicandro..." Cint said.

"Yes?"

"I want to have your babies."

"Ah, that's... wait, what?"

Before he process what she said, Cint quickly unstrapped one of her belts on her shirt and wrapped it around their torsos, pulling it tightly to bring both of their bodies closer.

"What the heck?!" Nicandro hollered, confused.

"Huh?!" Allatla and Madison could only look on in utter shock.

A wide, perverse smile roamed on Cint's face. "I've waited so long for this moment! We can finally be one!" she giggled uncontrollably.

"W-What are you talking about?!" Nicandro avoided looking down at her for the belt she unstrapped loosen her shirt out around the chest area, revealing a decent amount of cleavage. Unfortunately, because the two were so close, he couldn't help blushing as her large bust pressed tightly against his body.

"S-Stop!" Madison shouted, leaping out of the hiding place, her face just as red as Nicandro's. "T-This is not appropriate in a school environment!"

"A-Allatla agrees!" Allatla said, poking her head out and then quickly hid back in her hiding place.

"How dare you interrupt our alone time?!" Cint glared at her menacingly. She then unbuckled the belt holding her and Nicandro together and strapped it back to its original place. "I won't give you the chance to defile him! Prepare to..."

"My, my, what is going on here?"

The four students turned around to see Flora walking towards them, a bored expression on her face. Madison noticed an orange armband around her right arm with the words "Disciplinary Committee" on it.

"I swear you uncivilized people can be loud," Flora said, tucking a strand lock of her brown hair behind her ear, "This is a hallway, not a movie set. Get back to class."

"Grrrrr, so much competition," Cint gritted her teeth in anger. "I'm letting you off today, girl, but I'll never surrender!"

With that, the white haired girl ran down the hallway like a speeding bullet.

"Hey, no running in the halls!" Flora shouted as she gave chase after her.

An awkward silence filled the hallway. The three students simply stood confused by what had just transpired.

"Ah, are you alright, Nicandro?" Madison asked, breaking the silence.

"Y-Yeah, I'm just fine," Nicandro nodded, "Thank you for coming to my rescue."

"It's fine, just glad you're okay." she smiled. "Oh, that's right. Allatla, you can come out now."

The Inuit girl slowly walked out of her hiding place. "H-Hello, my name is Allatla!" she introduced herself to Nicandro with a bow and then quickly hid behind Madison.

Nicandro chuckled. "It's nice to meet you, Allatla. I assume you're one of new classmates, right? Hope we can be friends."

"We should go back to class, you have to meet another new student of ours." Madison insisted.

"Of course, let's go together." Nicandro agreed and the three began their way back to the classroom.

Upon opening the classroom door, Madison noticed that Mr. Iven still hadn't arrived back. She was sure he would at least arrive first.

"Hey, guys, I'll be back." she said, worried about his condition.

"Oh, sure thing." Nicandro said before she walked off.

Once again traveling down the empty hallway, Madison wondered to herself about Cint. She seemed to be an overly obsessed girl who desperately loved Nicandro more than anything. Madison immediately thought her Problem was that within itself, so it wouldn't surprise her if it turned out to be true.

While she didn't get the same frightening vibe from her, Madison was sure the person stalking her yesterday was her. If she was indeed, Madison had even more of a reason not to get on her bad side.

"What you're saying makes no sense."

Did it really? Sure, there was possibility that it wasn't her, but she surly couldn't think of anyone else...

It was then Madison realized the voice wasn't her own conscience. She heard the muttering of more voices in a classroom nearby and peeked inside to see who it belonged to.

"You shouldn't worry yourself over something so trivial, Iven. After all, it's not like you care about them."

Madison couldn't believe what she was seeing. Inside of secluded classroom stood Mr. Iven along with a face she knew all too well.

"Mr. A," Mr. Iven said, his voice low, "How dare you say such a thing to me? I love those kids."

"Do you really, Iven? Mr. A said, crossing his arms with a wide grin, "Or perhaps there's an ulterior motive behind what you're planning to do?"

"Are you suggesting that I'm..." the teacher gritted his teeth in anger, balling his hands into fists.

"Well, I can't be too lax when it comes to you, considering your past and all."

"My past is behind me, dammit!" Mr. Iven slammed a bandaged fist against the wall. "Don't you ever consider that again!"

"Okay, okay, sorry," Mr. A raised his hands in defense, smiling, "I'll allow you to do what you want, but remember I'm going to keep a close eye on you. If you even dare to reveal anything, I'll make sure your students know about the true Ikotu Iven that you're keeping behind those bandages."

Um, this chapter is originally titled: "The Cinted Roses of Love", but dA's short text title space wouldn't let me put it in there. ;w;

Summary: Madison attended a regular school, had a regular life, and is considered an all around normal, sociable person. So why she is forced to attend the School for Looneys, a school for students unfit for normal society? That question, she does not know. My story I am writing for NaNo (National Writing Month).
